Although Tyler James is 25 years old, he is often mistaken for a teenager. This headband wearing, piano playing, singer/songwriter has been playing music since he was a kid. His musical influences include Nick Drake, Joni Mitchell, Paul Simon, and Bob Dylan. I first heard his song Stay Humble on one of my favorite shows, Brothers & Sisters. His lyrics were filled with emotion and vulnerability and his voice was subtle yet powerfully uplifting at the same time. Tyler James is one Nashville's best kept secrets and it's about time the word got out.
