Philadelphia, PA is known for two things: being the city of brotherly love and cheesesteaks. What most people don't realize is that Phillie has an amazing music scene. For instance, the University of Pennsylvania has one of the best non-commercial, member-supported radio stations I've ever called, Y Rock On XPN. You can tune in any minute of the day and hear the likes of The Smiths, Dr. Dog, and Rilo Kiley. I've been a fan for a while and it's about time you become one too.
You can listen here: Y Rock on XPN
Philadelphia has also been home to indie rock band, Hail Social. It's almost impossible to listen to their album, Modern Love & Death and not think "Damn! This is fucking catchy!"
